If you get a positive test do you believe it and take antibiotics. This is what we have all been telling you about...
Lyme is considered a mimic and a test for lyme is often done as part of the diagnostic process. But you probably refer to those who claim that many cases of ALS are Lyme. I believe that a number of people have been misled by socalled Lyme literate practitioners who claim you need a special test...
Re: For any young people worrying about ALS
My opinion ( and I know you did not ask me) is stay away from " llmd" somehow everyone seems to get a positive test result and ends up taking lots of antibiotics - something that is not without risk.
Re: For any young people worrying about ALS
Good luck with your recovery. Please note I suggested Lyme disease as a possibility not even 8 hours after your first post.
Some Lyme practitioners seem to find Lyme in everyone. And some antibiotics have been shown to accelerate ALS. Please make sure your doctors are top notch. Where did you get the ALS diagnosis? I go to MGH and swear by them
My ankle rolled outwards and I fell over. My aunt started exactly the same. My sister could not button a shirt. I felt nothing. Neither did my sister. Can not speak for my aunt she died long ago
Please read this. Als untangled is dedicated to exploring various unproven theories about als and evaluating them.
It seems like your symptoms could be post viral you need to follow up with a reputable physician but I agree with Mike it does not sound like ALS
