Isn't she a sweetheart? She made 150 bracelets herself, just to spread awareness of this horrible disease. Can you believe some bracelets made it to Germany? This little girl is amazing! Good for her, she is keeping herself busy and productive :)

Malena, who is home schooled, was diagnosed in December with chronic neuro Lyme disease, said her mother, Terri Weidle. The disease is transmitted to humans by the bite of infected ticks. Weidle adopted Malena from Guatemala when she was eight months old. Three years ago, she started having gastrointestinal problems, though it isn’t known when she contracted the disease, Weidle said. It’s progressed to the point that she uses a cane.

I love hearing positive things like this, that are about raising the awareness of Lyme Disease! What an awesome young girl - sometimes it really takes a child to make us realize that we do have the power to make a difference ourselves - even if we are just one person.
