This is very sad! Another sad story from a Canadian citizen who struggled for years trying to get diagnosed in her country. When she finally got her diagnosis she ended up losing it all trying to pay for her treatment... so shocking!

A Saint John woman maxed out her credit cards and had to sell her home after resorting to costly U.S. medical care for long term treatment of Lyme disease.

Nancy Searle struggled for years to be diagnosed and treated for the disease.

I saw this in the news myself - so, so sad! The fact that she had to go to the States for treatment and then went broke as a result is awful. The things people have to do in order to put their health first is heartbreaking. It's sad too because I think Canada are meant to have a good health care system, but their awareness of Lyme seems low.
