Default 7 Year Old w/Bullseye Rash

My 7 year old granddaughter had a bullseye rash on her yesterday, approx. a week or so after we found a fully engorged dog tick in her head. My daughter took her to the dr. who prescribed 2 weeks amoxicillin. She just came off a 10-day course of amoxicillin for swimmer's ear within the last week. I have never heard of such a treatment for Lyme, only familiar with doxycycline. I'm freaking out because I fear this is not the correct treatment to nip this in the bud.
