Hi, Yes there is a difference between the normal Lyme test and Western Lyme. Jack too was tested for Lyme to rule out ALS. Someone we know suggested we go to a Lyme Dr. There he was tested for western lyme and it was positive. ALS had already progressed. For those without a diagnosed it may be a good idea to be tested for the Western Lyme. Hope I didn't confuse anyone. Symptoms do mimic ALS. My Best to you, Beebe
